Welcome to this presentation of a selection of some of my favourite photos.
Jiří Janovský, *1968.
I live in the North-East corner of the Czech Republic, in the heart of the Beskydy Mountains, the western part of the Carpathians. As a young boy I enjoyed hiking in these mountains, eventually coming to admire the beauty of nature in this area. I was also experimenting in photography using my father’s Praktica. My first pictures were of student life, then the family and children. But the mountains beckoned and landscape photography became the centre of my interest, while I still shoot other topics as well.
My preferred camera is the Canon EOS 5D with lenses 17 to 400 mm, a Manfrotto tripod, Cokin filters and a Sigma flash.
